Evinmotors, North America’s largest KTM dealer, partnered with Ekho to build a true end-to-end online sales engine—modern inventory discovery, full online checkout, and automated F&I and DMV workflows. The result: customers could buy anytime (even at 12:30 a.m.), without adding headcount. Early impact showed 10% of leads placing online orders, more out-of-state buyers, and clear incremental sales while complementing showroom traffic.
“Ekho is the future. You can either join it or get run over by it.”
About the Evinmotors dealer group
With over two decades of powersports excellence, Evinmotors has built a storied reputation as the largest KTM dealer in North America. Today, the dealer group serves riders from three hubs in Miami, Charlotte, and San Juan, with a comprehensive inventory spanning street, dirt, and water.
The Challenge
Evinmotors doesn't need to “catch up” - Juan Castellanos wants to lead powersports retail in his markets. He can see where the industry is headed: vehicle buyers expect the same seamless, online-first experience they already get when purchasing just about anything else, and dealers who make the buying process easy will win.
But traditional dealership tech isn't built for that kind of evolution. Inventory discovery doesn’t match the standards set in modern retail, online buyers have limited ways to transact, and back-office steps like F&I desking and DMV paperwork add friction that make every deal harder than it needs to be, more often than not requiring an in-store visit.
The Ekho Transformation
“Our first online unit was purchased at 12:30 a.m. on a Sunday. On a customer’s phone. While the store was closed. And our team was asleep. I rest my case.”
The Goal
Evinmotors wanted more than a website refresh. They wanted a complete online sales engine.
The Vision
Build the complete online sales engine powered by Ekho’s trifecta:
- Powerful website with built-in search + AI engine optimization so inventory is easy to discover everywhere buyers start
- True online transaction channel so customers can go from “browse to bought”
- Automated F&I + DMV workflows to remove operational friction and scale without adding headcount
Legal Compliance, Dealer Success, and OEM Alignment
Ekho is built on a foundation of legal compliance, dealer success, and deep alignment with OEM expectations.
Compliance-first, in every jurisdiction. Motor vehicle retail is one of the most heavily regulated industries in the country—and requirements vary not only state-by-state, but often county-by-county. Ekho has left no stone unturned. We invest millions of dollars annually in legal spend with the industry’s leading counsel to ensure every “T” is crossed and every “I” is dotted. While Ekho began processing live sales in early 2024, the company was formed roughly 18 months earlier—time spent working with the same legal teams that represent leading automotive technology companies like Carvana and several of the largest dealer groups in the United States. Together, we studied the laws governing motor vehicle retail purchases, franchise laws, titling and registration workflows, and tax remittance requirements across every discrete jurisdiction in the country, and secured the long list of licensure required to support Ekho’s business model.
As a result, regardless of the combination of state, county, vehicle classification, registration address, payment method, or DMV workflow, Ekho’s sales processing engine reliably enforces and automates the required compliance workflows—including tax, title, registration, insurance, KYC, signature collection, liability insurance, sales documentation, and fulfillment—on a per-jurisdiction basis.
OEM alignment and franchise-level obligations. Ekho is equally rigorous about maintaining OEM alignment and respecting franchise-level contractual requirements. Our team and legal counsel have deeply reviewed major OEM dealer agreements and MAP policies to ensure dealers can confidently operate within OEM expectations and state law. The platform is built with configurable controls that make compliance straightforward—such as enforcing minimum advertised pricing constraints on new inventory, supporting jurisdiction-specific requirements (tax, title, registration, insurance, and KYC), and enabling dealers to conditionally turn online sales on or off for specific units when needed.
Built with the industry, for the industry. Beyond compliance and contractual alignment, Ekho stays tightly aligned with dealer and OEM success by regularly consulting with prominent OEM leadership teams on best practices, building a team of respected industry veterans—including former dealer owners/operators and OEM VPs—and maintaining a dealer advisory council of some of the most forward-thinking dealers in the nation to inform product development. Ekho is also an active contributor to key industry organizations, including serving as a voting member of the Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) and a partner to the National Powersports Dealer Association.
